While a niece of the woman had initially indicated wardship would be applied for, that was not pursued and it also appeared none of the wider family would get involved.The woman is still in the hospital which is trying to deal with a “huge crisis” concerning availability of beds with 35-40 people on trolleys, Ms Kelleher said.
Funny that. This time last year when my grandmother was on deaths door there was such a panic to send her away anywhere. She needed 24/7 medical care; it didn’t take very long after the fact. Hearing this doesn’t help the bitter taste. An ordeal never forgotten. R.I.P.
