Pill testing trial 'successful' at music festival, evaluation finds | pallavisinghal_

People attending a music festival who were told their drugs contained a potentially deadly substance immediately threw them out after using a trial pill testing service.

More than 230 attendees of the April festival used the trial, which was sanctioned by the ACT government and provided by Pill Testing Australia but was not advertised or supported by signage, according to the evaluation by Australian National University researchers. Lead researcher Anna Olsen said the results show that speaking to health professionals before making decisions around drug-taking impacted people's behaviour.

"The reality is that young people are taking these drugs even though they're illegal and even though public health information advises against it," Dr Olsen said.

pallavisinghal_ Govt approved pill testing would transfers individual risk with drugs onto the tax payer. If they overdose on drugs, Tax payers could be mad to pay compensation to the family of the died? A simple solution would be to ask festival organisers to be responsible pill testing

pallavisinghal_ Let the druggies run freeeeeeee

pallavisinghal_ Every pilltesting article contains even more BS. Pill testing won’t work for those who need it most. Reckless risk-takers won’t bother. They’ll already be drunk or high on other drugs. Tough, frightening info and education campaign would be best.

pallavisinghal_ So let’s legalise this poison, how can we condone this recreational habit

pallavisinghal_ Pill testing kills
