M. Kevin Raj, 33, who works as a lorry driver and housewife, R.Loganayagi, 29, however, pleaded not guilty when the charges were read before magistrate Noor Azreen Liana Mohd Darus.
The charge was framed under Section 186 of the Penal Code for obstructing civil servants from carrying out their duties which carries imprisonment of up to two months or fine up to RM10,000 or both. Meanwhile, Loganayagi pleaded not guilty to insulting Zulkifli and accused the police officer of asking for money.
Noor Azreen Liana then set bail at RM1,000 in one surety and also ordered her to surrender her passport and to report herself at the nearest police station once a month.The prosecution was carried out by deputy public prosecutor Fadhli Ab Wahab while the accused were represented by lawyer K. Nathan.In a different courtroom, Loganayagi was charged with failing to produce her identity card when asked by Zulkifli at the same location and time.
