Allianz General Insurance agent Ahmad Izhan Abd Rashid, 40, said the payments were received through three Affin Bank cheques belonging to the foundation from Zahid's personal assistant, Major Mazlina Mazlan.
"The cheques were written in my name because after I deposited the cheques, I will withdraw some amount for the road tax because the payment was made in cash to the Road Transport Department . Ahmad Izhan said this on the ninth day of Zahid's trial on 47 charges - 12 for criminal breach of trust , eight for corruption and 27 for money laundering - involving tens of millions of ringgit in funds belonging to Akalbudi Foundation.
Prior to this, Allianz General Insurance branch manager Fang Suat Lim told the court that Zahid took four types of insurance policies, namely a"private car policy", a"motorcycle policy", an"enhanced road warrior policy" and a"bike warrior policy".
