Prominent human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, SAN, has called on the United States government to remove Cuba from its list of states allegedly sponsoring terrorism.

In a statement released on Thursday, Falana emphasized the need for the U.S. to comply with United Nations General Assembly resolutions that have annually demanded an end to the U.S. blockade against Cuba and the lifting of the economic and trade embargo imposed since February 1962.

“The USA under President Barack Obama had in 2015 admitted that Cuba never engaged in terrorism, and removed it from that list. “Cuba has never been involved in terrorism nor attacked any country. Rather, it is famous for its humanitarian assistance to dozens of countries in the world saving lives by sending its medical teams around the world including Europe.
