Closing arguments to begin in murder trial gripping - and dividing - Boston. Will Karen Read be found guilty?Karen Read doesn't take stand in trial accusing her of killing police officer boyfriend with SUVProsecutors contend Read struck O'Keefe with her Lexus SUV in January 2022, leaving him unconscious outside in the snow after a night of bar hopping.
Read, a former adjunct professor at Bentley College, is charged with second-degree murder, manslaughter while operating under the influence of alcohol, and leaving the scene of personal injury and death. On Monday, three witnesses for the defense cast doubt on the prosecutors' version of events. Two witnesses from an independent consulting firm that conducts forensic engineering also suggested some of the evidence didn't line up with the prosecution version of events.
